La Romita has magic.
It seems trite to put it that way, but it’s the simplest way we’ve found to summarize the feedback we get, through conversations our guests have during meals, the testimonials we get, the comments we receive in social media.
Those who have come to La Romita use phrases like “life-changing” and “transformative”, describe deeply affecting experiences, and talk about the spaces that La Romita opened in their lives and in their art.
We established our Scholarship Program in 2017 in order to make this magic available to as many people as possible – even those who might ordinarily turn away from the cost.
Through our program, we were able to bring 2 visual artists and a poet to La Romita.
But our program needs funding if we’re going to be bring others to La Romita in 2025.
This August we we’re hoping to raise enough funds to offer 4 Scholarships for next year – a total goal of $10,000 through the support of our Community.
If we can reach $5000 in donations before August 30th, one of our supporters has offered to match the donation. That would bring us to our overall goal and allow us to fund all 4 scholarships.
As a thank you for donations over $100, we’re offering a special custom T-Shirt with a special design.
The design is based on the small olive-branch stained glass windows you might have noticed in both studios. The olives inspire us with the innate beauty of their trunks, branches, leaves and fruit, a beauty whose form reflects the unique experience of each tree.
It’s been a very long time since we’ve offered something like this. You have never seen something like this offered in our boutique or on our website – and it will only be available as a thank you to our donors.
