Richard Alan Nichols invites you to a workshop focused on exploring the creative process. Participants will be encouraged to dig deep, to think differently, and to experiment with their art in ways they may never have before. These experiments are like sparks, intended to ignite a more creative and passionate connection to painting.
This 10-day workshop will be conducted in both the studio and en plein air. While all levels are welcome, plein air experience is strongly recommended. The format for each day will vary depending on weather and or location but will include demonstrations and lectures, paint-along presentations, individual painting time, personalized guidance and group discussions aimed to promote your progress. You will always receive mentor feedback to encourage your artistic style and ventures. Optional evening opportunities are also offered.
Demonstrations will be in oil, but other mediums are encouraged. However, students should have a confident grasp of use in their alternative medium.
You will leave this workshop excited, ready to experiment more on your own, and above all, pointed toward meaningful, personal, and artistic growth. Learn to let go of the familiar formulas and create with confidence.
“The purpose of life, after all, is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experiences.”~ Eleanor Roosevelt
